I wasn’t really prepared for this day's reason, of why you should rainwater harvest. Because I was busy with the blogging contest thing. But my teacher has given me an idea for today’s topic. So let's say a really bad earthquake happened, (and let's say you can’t get water because the pipes or however you're water get transport is broken ) how will you be able to get a drink, easy just go to your water tank and turn on the tap. Or if you don’t have a tap because it's connected up to your house but it is not a good idea to go back in, or you didn’t install one. just poke a hole in it and get your banked water. (of cause i recommend you boil it) and if you're water tanks dried up. you can either wait for emergency services. Or just say at least it can't get any worse, to get more water. (if it doesn’t start to rain and something worse does happen, I can not be blamed in any way.)

So there's my today's reason on why you should rainwater harvest. :)

You should probable earthquake proof your water tank. Just a thought. :)

Rain Water Harvest: What Else

Now I've only been saying that that recycled water is only good for water your garden and water fights. that's because i can’t think of anything else it can be used as. As Colin Mochrie said once but for completely different reasons.

“Use your imagination”

you could dig a fishpond and fill it up with the water. You could freeze it and use it as frozen bowling ball or you can tip it over yourself and have a shower the possibilities are endless. :)

so remember do what you want, because it your water (another reason to rain water harvest)

Rain Water Harvest: a good way to store your water

But one way to really harvest that rainwater is to get a water tank. Sure they cost lots and take up most of your yard, but think of long term goods this tank of water will get you. because if you have room to put it i bet you have guardian to water with it. And when summer comes you think of fun in the sun and the cool relaxing felling of water. put those two together and you get a water fight. Once at a family reunion my dad just placed some buckets of water around the place, and with a few minutes 2 of my aunts arguments turned from a talking match to a water match. great memories.

My family some years ago brought a property near my old primary school. (speaking of my old primary school there someone from there sitting in front of she was a year above me only spoke to her once this year and it was a simple hello hi conversation i wonder if she evens remember me and please don’t take that the wrong way any way back to it shall we), my mum and dad well mum mostly wanted to build their dream house or something along the those line. and so it began but because they have had no way for getting water the got a water tank. it has shown it uses and now with the recent rain fall it would ready to rumble with the tasks ahead.

Rain Water Harvest: In The Beganing

Rain, the water from the sky with many myths behind it, but science calls it the water cycle. For as long there been water and sun on the earth there has been rain being evaporated into the clouds before falling to the ground due to heaviness.

So what happens than well, it gets soaked into the ground and sucked up through the roots of plants. But when there's too much rain for the plant and ground. It sits on the surface collecting together to form bigger bodies of water. if only there was a way to use this wasted water that will soon dry up (unless it forms a lake) and that's where the Gray water scheme comes to play.

Imagine having you have you're own garden (or something else you could put that water to use for), instead of using water that you might have to pay for, you’ll have water for free. and you don’t even need any fancy rain water contraptions. just when you see a rain a coming run out and place buckets out in the open. or better yet get a barrel and a watering can just fill up the watering can in the barrel and water your garden or if you're the strong type place wheels on the barrel and you can pull it round with you. As I've heard someone say before

“use what mother nature provides” sure the rain can just go back into the town supply but aren't you paying for (if you're not??? I don’t know it's environmental) But not only can you use it for such things as gardening you can also use it for fun things like a water fight you can just pick up the buckets and throw the water at people this way you are not only being environmentally friendly collecting water that you know has been treated dued to the evaporation process.

New Zealand is one of the high powered rain country. Most areas of New Zealand have between 600 and 1600 mm of rainfall each year with that much water it would be a waste just to let it clean our streets than clean out our drains.

hey to any body who stumbles onto my blog I started this as a Digital technology project. but now it coming in handy for social studies too. for my project I have to try and convince people to start rain water harvesting. if your already doing that's just how good i am. rain water harvesting is just simply, using rain water for thing you could use rain water for instead of town water. or where ever you getting your water from. and that what i'm trying to convince you to do so here it goes.
